The long-awaited electropop album from Grey Granite and J. Brookinz NOW on iTunes!:

For over the past year, Grey Granite has been working closely with his partner in crime J. Brookinz to craft an album that pushed the creative boundaries of both artists. Heavy Gun’s sister label iQ Entertainment is NOW promoing the re-release of the Broke(n) EP exclusively on Juno Download:

As Indianapolis’s drum-n-bass scene was experiencing a surge in international exposure, iQ Entertainment put together a collection of tunes from the best producers in the city.  The culmination of that project was a 5 track ep with monster tunes from anthem killer K-Step, Amen surgeon Sum aka Sumone, and the up and coming liquid funk champion Dave Owen.  Due to problems with distribution, the release received little publicity.  Flash forward two years:  Sum and Dave Owen are two of the most highly sought-after producers in dance music.  Sum has released multiple EPs on Planet Mu, while Dave Owen continues to get heavy rotation on the BBC from Fabio and Grooverider.  With new mixes from Dave Owen and an additional tune from Infuze, the Broke(n) EP is about to get the release it always deserved!

Tracklist:
Dave Owen - Stay Cool (2009 Mix)
Dave Owen - Soul Purpose (2009 Mix)

Sum - Atari Dubstep [Ableton Mixtape]

atari-2600

Indianapolis hometown hero turned Balto-Wash resident Sumone just shot me his newest Ableton Live set for me to post. It’s kinda in the vein of Squincy Jones’s Nintendub in that it mixes 8 bit samples with dubstep, but this is a completely different creature. Sum doesn’t just mix tracks. He cuts up every part of a tune into a sample pack and recreates and remixes the tune on the fly, so there isn’t a track list. This is just pure midi controller mashing fun from the Dub Alchemist.

Jeff busted me a tracklist for the mix. Check it below the cut.
